Bit of a trek for me I'm afraid, it should be clean underneath at that age especially being a southern car, mechanically I would want a fully up to date service record and it should still be quiet and composed to drive. Value sounds about right for age and mileage.

The above is what I would expect and having not seen the car in question all opinions are offered on the basis of caveat emptor.

It's not a Jimny. It's my Jimny

The engine will outlive the car. Very strong little motors ;-)

I cant help with viewing either as at totally the other end of the country, but yes as Lambert says, service history and funny noises.

How did it go?

I'd not be too worried about the engine, as long as it's been looked after.

Rust is still the issue here. It's 8 years old still!

I don't drive zebedee that often but that sounds about right. It's near enough the same cruise rpm as Ermintrude.

For general pottering about the auto is actually a better gearbox as it's well suited to the general character of the Jimny, simple and stress free. The manual is a lot more involved, it makes you want to drive it harder.
