knocking sound when I move the steering wheel

When I move the steering wheel side to side when stationary there is a knocking sound also can be heard/felt when driving any ideas to save time and effort......

I have the same at the moment had 30 mins to spare so popped over to the garage and we had a look underneath but couldn't see anything visable, wondering if it could be a bottom kingpin on the drives side starting to play up but there is no play in the wheels and only makes the noises when the car is on the ground/underload

Mine did this. It was the axle end of the front panhard rod bolt that was not done up tight enough and was allowing just a little movement between the mounts and the bush inner sleeve.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

As 11/60 said, but chassis end for me. If the bolt isn't tight enough it shifts as you turn the wheel, I could feel the body move slightly as well.
