Hi all,
Took the plunge and bought a Jimny (2010) 6 weeks ago to replace my Jag S-Type which was getting expensive to run. Need something reliable for all weathers and usually just me travelling, so the Jimny was ideal.
Must say that I'm really impressed so far and looking forward to the winter weather when I think it will really come into its own.
Limited my buying of parts thus far to new mats, but will be fitting some proper winter tyres (Goodride SW608 215/70/15) on a set of 15x8 steel wheels as I don't really like the Bridgestone Duelers it came with in the wet and think they may not be great in the snow (will keep them on the original wheels in storage until spring and then see as ok in the dry and lots of miles left in them).
Would really like to put some LED lights under a roofbar and fit a snorkel to give a really cool look, but will need to find someone competent to do this for me as anything more compliacted than bolting it on is beyond me! [Anyone recommend any garages in Central / North Wiltshire?]
Longer term some light off-road action seems likely.
Look forward to contributing to the forum in due course
All the best
MS

Welcome MS !
These Goodride's are not really the best offroad tires to get, even not for light offroad!
You find out that very quickly you want to swapping them over to some more serious off-roader tires.
May i recommend you the BF GOODRICH KM2 (215/75/R15).
I'm driving every day with them on highway en also some real offroad and i must say they still as good as new !
A snorkel isn't that difficult to put on!
But maybe a member from this forum can do it for you.
Succes and lot's of fun with the Jimny !
