2" Lift - A Couple Of Questions was created by Jimnyash
I've been reading through, and there are various things/side effects mentioned of a 2" lift, so, a couple of questions:
  • Does the lift have an effect on the front axle position and the steering wheel location? If so, how is this fixed?
  • Are CC bushes a must have?
  • Do I need to change / modify the rear panhard rod?
  • Are there any other side effects?

  • I
don't want to be driving down the road with my wheels off centre of the Jimny!

Thanks.

yes the left has effect on axle it puts the ale slightly to one side because panhard rod now being to short (but im on 3" lift original panhards only slightly out) steering wheel in the same place unless you go over to mainland europe then its on the wrong side :P ,

cc bushes are really needed can use with out but it wont be nice to drive steering wont centre and it just goes all funny i lasted a day with out them before the card come out to order some

i cant comment exactly on how it effects it as i have lots of other things done but ive been told there a bit differnt to drive and some say better to drive obviously will roll abit more in corners etc

they do look so much better lifted they should of come out the factory like it but depends what your going for if your just going to drive it on the road then theres not much point but off road your get better articulation and can fit bigger tyres, you need to know that the lift will do nothing for ground clearance only really way of doing that with out remorgaging your house is bigger tyres

Replied by Tommo on topic 2" Lift - A Couple Of Questions
I have a 2" lift
and I have no problems
ok i've done the cheaper option of spacer blocks

As long you extend your break lines if you take the anti roll bar off
you don't need todo any thing else

but if you leave the roll bar on then you dont need to extend the break lines
if you go up to a 3", then there's lots of things to consider
as mentioned in the comment above ^
