Hi there! I'm Jim. I'm 36 and... Well, you don't care about all of that. I was looking for an off road, tough as nails vehicle. of course, I've been wanting a Jeep. However, I've come to the conclusion that for fuel economy and toughness combined that nothing can beat a Jimny. I've seen what these little devils can do off road and and even with street tires its certainly impressive. Their light weight allows them to not get bogged down. Their reliability is legendary. How many purely stock vehicles are still taking hard off road abuse like a Jimny that are 25 or more years old with no major repairs? Years ago I helped a friend rebuild a much abused 1.6L engine in a Samurai and we actually lifted the engine out by hand. No hoist needed. It ran for many years obviously without an oil change and only failed when an idiot drove it to Texas and back after her father told her that it had no oil in it and she failed to add any. That's a tough vehicle. I'm entertaining the idea of buying one and I am wondering if a 1.6L VW diesel would fit in her. I love the reliability of diesels and I like the idea of being able to make my own fuel. Any thoughts?

Jim

If its the USA then you will not find any Jimnys there :(

They were never imported and sold, so its really difficult to import one. I know of one in Florida but I think that came in from Venezula

The "Jimnys" as we know them in the UK have only been made since 1998 although they have a heritage going back through the SJ/Samurai and LJ ranges.

However, Suzuki used the Jimny name in many market areas in the past so vehicles we in the uK know as SJ/LJs are also known as Jimny's in other areas of the world
