Hi guys just a quick question regarding the engine coolant in the Jimny
I checked it today and it needs topping up slightly, the coolant is green
Thinking about topping up the antifreeze now winter is fastly approaching but have no idea what antifreeze to put in as a top up, obviously flushing the old stuff out and starting fresh would be the better option but i just want to top up whats already in there.
I understand not to mix colours etc

Cheers

There is a drain plug at the bottom of the radiator.
Undo it with the rad cap off. (make sure the fluid doesn't spill on the ground as doggies and hedgehogs will drink it and die.) [So will cats, but I don't like them much]

Tighten, and refill, run engine until hot.
Undo and drain.

Repeat until water is clear.

This time add antifreeze, and the job is done.

I used red, as it lasts for a few years, probably damages japanese seals though...

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
