An introdution.

Ive been around the forum for a month or two now, and posted a few times. But thought I should probably do a little introduction.

Im Jamie, but just J these days.

Ive always been a 4x4 fan, though my recent purchase of my beloved Jimny is my first 4x4 for about 8 years. My first car was a 1984 LR 90. And as much of an unreliable heap that it was, i did enjoy bouncing along it.
Ive always been around 4x4's, having left school and gone straight into full time employment for my father building, repairing and restoring 4x4's. Mainly specialising in the refurbishment and replacement of LR gearboxes. Most of my experience has been on the older Landrover's and Suzuki'sand that's where my passion lies.

But after 7 years or working for my father we got stung by some ars*%ole in london who sold us a large amount of stolen parts and destroyed the 30 years of family business. After everything that happened, I just lost my passion for spannering as a job and just keep it as a passion these days. I now work as a 24 hour same day courier.

I was always a fan of the Jimny, its such a simple beast and a great improvement over the SJ's of old, and knew I had to have one. Its quite a step down from my previous cars, but I just love everything about it and its rather quickly rekindling my love for the gentle amble of 4x4's and steering me away from previous love for all thing's fast and noisy.
