Let's face it, the Jimny horn is a bit "limp" isn't it ?

So I'm thinking of fitting an air horn. I know that "colonel bogeys" aren't allowed but I think two tone horns are, as long as they sound together.
Anyone know if klaxon type horns like this are ok or banned :

I think to pass the MOT it has to be a continuous tone.

I guess you could have it as a secondary horn?

I think, if you fit a more powerful horn, it will draw more current than the standard horn, so you won't get the full effect without adding a switched relay and uprated fused supply to the new horn.

A lot of motorcycle owners upgrade there horns and fit Stebel horns. I fitted one to the Jimny and got an improvement over standard horn, but not 139db!

Cheers

The stock Jimny horn is actually a motorcycle horn  made by Denso. It draws ~4 A, a lot less than a regular car horn and much-much less than a powerful horn.

I got the smallest Stebel (regular, not air horn) thinking it would fit in the same place ... it didn't. Its current requirement is much higher, about 20 A if I remember correctly. So I put a relay instead the original horn and wired it directly to the battery. Major difference in sound now (and when it breaks, I'll replace it with an air horn).

Pics follow. Here's the original horn:
