Hi All,

Have a dseath wobble develop on my jimny since going up to 205 75 15 tyres. It looks as if the panrod's have excessive wear in them, how do you replace them? I can see you can buy the bush's as a kit, is it as simply as cutting the old ones out and hammering in the new ones?

Any help or advice from people would be great.

Rather than hammering them in they can be pressed in using threaded bar, a selection of washers and a couple of nuts along with a few spanners and if needed a few bits of wood with holes drilled in them to use as spacers. last time i changed bushes at work i used a little fairy liquid on the bush to help get it in.

Yeah the wheels were all balanced, I have gone up a size to 75 profiles, and im getting a wobble now at 45mph. I'm going to check the panrods and trailing arms and if all ok will see about taking it back to them to balance them again. Only issue is that they had to use stick on weights not the clip on ones as there is not enough clearence between the rear of the wheel and the steering arm for a clip on weight and I have been told the stick on weights arnt as good. Heres a pic of the new wheels

I do them with just a vice and two sockets...

A big socket that's just a bit bigger than the panhard rod bush mounting loop, and a small one that will fit through the loop...

To take the bush out - big socket one side of the panhard rod loop, small socket the other side, and pop them in the vice... push the sleeve through by clamping in the vice and use the little socket to push it through, then push the bush through using the small socket again...

To put the bush in - same again, big socket one side of the panhard rod loop, small socket the other side, and pop them in the vice... squeeze the bush in as much as you can by hand and then push it through by clamping in the vice again and using the small socket to push it in, and then push the sleeve through the bush with the vice again...

Simples!

Hi Joshua
looking forward to hearing how you get on, I too got the dreaded wobble (and still have) when I put my ATs on.
Also looking forward to your feedback on your new Grabber ATs - they look good ;)
