I must correct the price, it was £520 plus postage (£20), Jimny5 bundled a load of other products in his purchase so the postage was different for him.

Yeah like Mike says - completely stripped the crown wheel and pinion. The guy at the local gearbox place said they hadn't been meshing properly from the wear marks left on the few intact teeth :(

Well what a busy few days...

With the help of Richie's mechanical brain I managed to get to the bottom of the vague steering and replaced the bu##ered steering box: a snip at £220  still it will hopefully take some abuse from those 33's.

Not before I replaced the front crown wheel and pinion, front bearings, kingpins, rose joints and track rod ends :) (so that's the front end completely taken care of).

That's the fixing, now to the good bits: fitted my 6.5 gears and ORA HD mounts to the transfer box. This in itself was a bit chewy as the Xbrake kit sits exactly where the new ORA mount goes so I had to modify it with the help of my grinder and welder and space the xbrake disc to line everything back up again:

Success :)

My Impreza seats are in (thanks Sponnie):

Now it's off to Spannermonkeys to have my internal cage fitted along with stainless steel exhaust (re-routed out of harms way), Ignis sport 1.5 engine mated to my low mileage Jimny gearbox (from Cam Suzuki).

Woohoo. Off to Greece tomorrow and hopefully my jimjam will be all ready when I get back for the laning trip on the 29th :woohoo:
