Raspberry Pi was created by Goat
Just wondered if anyone had come up with an application for the Raspberry Pi in the Jimny. Been thinking of how to use it for a mod but so far nothing other than a music player. Surely there must be some 4x4 type mod that can be done with one of these.

Ha, that's an idea I never thought of :) but a good one, considering the small RPI matches the small Jimny.

First idea would be obviously to integrate it with a LCD screen and pipe the output through a small amplifier to the car speakers. The touch interface would probably be a bit more difficult to implement, but having XBMC in the car would certainly be fun.

The new versions of RPI (512 RAM) should be able to run Android ... that opens up a lot of possibilities.

Or you could hook up a gyro sensor and built an accurate clinometer with buzzer and lights

Yes, I'm lovin that. I want it to start beeping at me when I'm close to tipping over. Like that noise helicopters make when they go down in the movies.

A small computer no bigger than a credit card. It's meant to be a cheap, fully usable computer for emerging countries. It's running Linux (obviously) and has USB (for storage), Ethernet port (for networking), HDMI and analog video output, analog sound output, GPIO header (for connecting various sensors).

It looks like this:
