Servicing...what needs doing? was created by wz1
Hiya,

Bought a 53 O2 JLX AUTO with 35k on the clock. It only has a service history up to 18k. Since it's nine years old what would you guys recommend that needs checking/doing on it please? I have done the oil change and brake pads.

Thanks for any help and advice, much appreciated

Hiya Mate,

My advise wold be as you dont know the history that well is to do the following.

-Engine oil and filter. ( You have done )
-Gearbox,transfer box, front and rear axsel oils. (Very simple to do)
-Change brake fluid and bleed brakes. (easy)
-renew anti freeze/coolant. (Easy)
-Air filter.
-spark plugs.

And just have a good check around the engine bay and underneath for any signs of oil/coolant leaks etc. Check and clean brakes and jack each wheel up and check for any free play.

These few things above cover most of the maintance type stuff, that are easy to do yourself, parts are cheap and you can do it in or at your own time.

Hope this helps mate.
