Alternative to carpet? was created by TheTyke
Hi folks still looking for my first Jimny, but I think I'm getting closer as I've promised the wife I'll get rid of the Landy Lightweight I was going to do up.

I was just wondering if there are any alternatives to the standard carpets such as rubber matting that is shaped for the Jimny?

Being a Landy owner I hate capets as they just get full of mud. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as I will keep hold of the info until that Jimny lands on my drive :)

Thats funny cos I was thinking about alternatives to carpet myself. The heated up rubber idea sounds good to me, anyone else any ideas on this front?

The crappier Jimny's without power steering, roof rails and color coded bumpers etc have plastic floor mats instead of carpet. I've been thinking about swapping the carpets for those if I manage to get a set somewhere...

When doing the research for soundproofing, I found a liquid substance which they recommend for the car arches. It might be what you want - StP Noise Liquidator . Other brands might have an equivalent.

Be careful if using materials not intended for automotive use - some can stink for a long time !

You could get your car interior sprayed with Rhino Lining, that is tough stuff.

That has potential! I used something similar in the load area of the Landy. I was hoping to stay a little bit more refined and although it sounds fettish like I would really like rubber

I know you can get dimpled as well as the ribbed stuff (This sounds so wrong  ), but how much shaping is required to fit over tunnels and things as I don't have a Jimny at the moment to look at
