hi mate,the bigger the better i say,i have a 9500 superwinch,and it will pull me out of anything,only a few weeks ago i was bogged down and sat on the axles and the winch pulled me out no problem.

Between 6500 and 9500 winch.

But agree with the above. A 9500 winch is the way to go. Usually the fastest winches also. The 12000 and above tend to be insanely slow.

Hi mate I had a Champion 6000lbs winch fitted to my old Jimny mounted in the standard bumper. I found this was big enough.It pulled me out a few times and even a few land rovers out too but If/When I get another I will probably go a little bigger like Steve said bigger the better. If its only for light off roading then Id say 6000lbs was ample.
What suspension lift have you got as well because they are very heavy and it will drop the front end.

Thanks guys and yes a have 2 inch lift with pro comp gas shocks iv ordered a 9500 today so looking forward to cutting a hole in my bumper at the weekend I'm going for a standard bumper fit any tips? Or just break out the steel plate and the welder?

There's a guide here on bigjimny for fitting a winch in standard bumper.
