Forgive me if this is a stupid question...
Providing it's not too wet this weekend I'm going to give my steel wheels a bit of a refurb and spray them black. The wheel nuts are very rusty looking though and would stick out like a sore thumb on a black wheel, so I thought I'd give them a quick de-rust and spray them black as well.
Does anyone know if this is a complete waste of time? I don't want the paint to come off of the nuts as soon as I put the socket on them to put the wheels back on. I was thinking of using wheel paint for the nuts as well as the wheels.
Thanks

Thanks for the recommendations. I think I'll go for the black covers as they are cheap and cheerful. When the covers are all stolen by chavs I'll get new wheelnuts.

LOL.
They'll be lucky, I can't get mine off without a tool of some sorts.
No chance with bare fingers.
BUT, as you say, cheap and cheerful.
:-D
