yeah seen this in asda tonight. trouble is the jim takes 4.5l . i use their 10w30 semi synth 16 quid for 5l

Handbook of my 2000 jimny says 3.7 litres & when I did the oil change last week it actually used 4L to fill the filter and go 3/4 on the dip stick

fill it to the max mark then start it leave it a few mins then check level and the top up to max running low oil not good as oil does a number of things in the engine and 10w40 is fine thats what i got in mine doesnt burn it so quick

Noticed Tesco's also have 10/40 for £10 Good brand, think it was comma. I have 4 bottles of GTX still from last time it was on offer from Asda, but since sold my GV which wanted 1 1/4 bottles and got rid of the Girlfriend so not going to service her car now :-) So plenty of oil for my jimny ;-)

according to martin's info page the jim takes 4.5l. if its less than 4l i'll get the castrol

On the quantity theme... mine takes just over 4L to fill it to the full mark... and i keep a bottle in the shed for top ups... also run 10W 40... currently on Magnatec
