What's needed to fit a lobster box? was created by Coletti
I'm thinking of buying a rock lobster box for my 1998 jimny but was unsure as to what parts are needed to fit it and where the best place to get them is? Any information would be greatly appreciated

All will depend on what it comes with , if its just a box you will need flanges a font prop speedo sensor and i think a mounting kit

You will need
Lobster box
T/box mounting brackets
T/box bolt throught mounts
Speedo gear and sensor mounting bracket
Sj front prop ( to use on the rear of the jimny)
Sj middle prop
correct Large flanges and prop (hard to get hold of) or ( medium flanges and prop and drill your diff flanges to match)
Bend the gear sellector on the lobster box to clear the jimny opening

and as it happens ive just finnished another Lobster box that is ready for sale ;) £350 with warranty
I also have (at an extra cost)
mounting Brackets for jimny
speedo gear and bracket
middle prop
medium flanges
and i can bend the gear sellector if needed?

so all you would need to fit it is
sj front prop and bolt through T/box mounts

And I take it the props that are already on the jimny will not marry up to the tbox?

Only the front prop can stay in place, though you will need to re'drill the transferbox flange to match up the holes.
Finding the correct flanges is a headache and can be costly if buying new.
I had to use 2 prop spacers with my mini sj prop to fit and they are not cheap, I'm still after a longer sj mini prop about 45mm longer.
Bigoffroader is offering a good deal, bending the lever took me a good hour with heat, having a 2" body lift also meant extending the shaft.

Your front prop will fit but you will have to re-drill the flange to match and the jimny centre and rear props wont fit unless you have them machined to fit, most just get SJ props to save on hassel.
I will pm you a price for everythin except the T/box mounts and sj front prop.
