Bonnet vent? was created by 247sniper
Hi guys,

Where do you get the bonnets from with the vent in the middle of them? Is it a modification you add to the standard bonnet or is it a compete new bonnet?

Thanks guys,

Steve.

The bonnet vents are for the intercoolers on the turbo diesel Jimny. You can add shakers or intake vents or extraction vents to any bonnet,

I might get one off eBay and have a go at putting one on.they look good but are only on the turbo models. So it would only be for vanity to be honest.

I like the look with the bonnet vent. Are the JP 660cc bonnet the same as the spanish diesel bonnet?

I think the bonnet and vent are one piece, an aftermarket vent would not look nearly as good IMO

problem is having an open bonnet vent leading to nothing could be the wrong idea if you do deep water alot. my jimnys always in water over the bonnet at the mo as the rivers and water holes are up.
as it will be coming in and pouring directly on to the engine. may not affect it but you never no.

looks good tho. :)

I was going to cut a hole and fit a scoop and then fiber glass and fill it so it looks like a one piece bonnet, but seal it in side so there is know where for the water to go straight through into the engine. I think it would look good but is it worth the hassel, this maybe a little project when i can drop on a bonnet cheap enough.

O yes I know it won't do anything, just wanted one cause I like the look guys , think it looks quite good, and I'll never be in that deeper water for the possible chance of water ingress into the engine bay ,

Thanks for your input fellas,

Steve

Is it room for a cooler with the m13aa? Im planning on supercharging mine, and adding a turbo hood with cooler would top it off :)

Shuduck, I hope you do supercharge it, as I keep trying to find someone who has successfully done it but failed when trying to sort the fuelling :(

Anyway on topic, I'm sure you could get a jap bonnet shipped over? Then it would just be a bolt on mod I presume.
