have to say what a great outing. very surprised by the capability of a stock jimny. we did all get stuck once in the same place but the landy got stuck twice. we had to winch out of a deep rutted lane which was covered with tree roots so there was no grip at all. i give it a good go though until the clutch started to smell:ohmy: .the landy was running insa turbos and i was using dueler a/t and they took me where i wanted to go . only thing was i felt the jimny ground about 3 times but i think it was only on the radius arms and i was dropping down two stone ledges in woods. all in all very impressed:woohoo:

Thats it, you've caught the bug!

Usual places for grounding are the radius arm mounts on the chassis or the diffs and it sounds worse inside the car than what it is. Sometimes if you can tell they will take a bit of a beating but its unavoidable you just have to take care and really crawl so the car doesn't compress too much.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

Sounds like you had a good aul day out rooster ! I had a god weekend myself, did some mucking about in the lovely wicklow mountains, the mud was immense and the there was a huge pit slap bang on the side of a mountain, my Standard Jimny handled really well, mind you on the really steep descent the Lo Box did not perform as well as my mates Defender 90s , but that got caught a few times in places where i appeared to skip over not a bother !

Till the next time, i shall try get some pics up too ! Its a great laugh when all the folk at the petrol station stare at the muddy jimny !
