as title,

my jimny went into a local garage in maybole to get a wheel bearing and kinpins replaced on the drivers side, it came out with a heavy pull to the left when braking and the 4wd not working,

garage had it back to day, sorted the left pull but not the 4wd, he said he had a "land rover specialist" look at it and couldnt find the cause.

the 4wd light stays on as normall but both front hubs dont engage, it was working fine before the garage had it,

any ideas as to what i can do, ie legaly,

can i get a 4x4 specialist to sort it and send the bill to the local garage?

im really pissed of with them, had it in for welding last week and he didnt do what i asked, left a patch i had siliconed a plate over and said it would pass a mot like that!

Have they swapped over the vacuum tubes?

Have they used hub sealant everywhere and sealed up the hubs!

I would phone citizens advice and trading standards.

And don't let a landrover specialist look at it - if it can't be hit with a heavy hammer then a landrover specialist can't fix it!

Its pretty easy to block the air pipes inside the hubs with grease when fitting bearings.... I'd look there if i were you, although i bet you dont have a 'jimny hub removal tool'

I think they are a vital part of all good tool kits but the item most likely to be used when the air is blue and the language used by it's holder is bluer!!!

As Landrover's break so often, the above scenario occurrs more ofetn for their owners!!!
