Are you building a Mud Monster or a Pavement Princess??

J999 MNY, ULYSSES M18 VVT with ITB's Dyno tested at 130hp
Pickup/tipper, R7me gearbox & 6.4 Rocklobster, 31" Toyo MT, 2x ARB air locker 3.9 diffs in braced axles, 6" total lift, Floating rear conversion, Raptor painted, CB, Recaro's, Caged, etc, etc...
www.youtube.com/user/riclemus
And now for the back end...
Made up some bolt-on plates and a tube to link between the chassis rails and support the trailer body...
Then tried some 2 plane pipe bending. Unfortunatley the bender I have is unable to make bends close together by its design, so I did have to cut, sleeve internally and weld a section on the drop of the side bars, but its pretty good and certainly strong enough in the scaffolding pipe. The side bars weld to the roof hoop and to the rear bolt-on plates.
And the trailer body fits nice and snug on the brackets:
Decided a bit of bracing was needed so have started on some kickers from the roof down to the mounting plates.
Next will be finishing the other kicker and onto the rock-slider part of it. That will also need to be a bolt on fixing of some sort to enable the cage to be removable, but that shouldn't be too hard. Rocksliders are basically box section steel to run along the sills and have kickers back to the chassis for strength.

Pah, was too easy I guess. Points to you my friend
Yes it was interesting to have a search for '12v waterproof linear actuator'. They are essentially similar to a hydraulic ram, except they are all-in-one and generally are designed to run from 12v DC, therefore, much cheaper and easier to install. Wiring is simply reversed to get the same action back in. Runs at about 20mm/sec but will be faster with how it's to be mounted.
The one pictured is good for 4000NM force in both directions, more than ample for the tiny bed on this project
For the hinge point I have been looking at pillow block bearings from various engineering suppliers, these offer way more service life and lifting capacity than I will need, but are about £20ea for a simple block that can bolt on to the trailer body and allow it to swivel enough to work.
