Well as the name suggests guess what ive been working on
work is still in progress and i thought i would float the project hear to get some ideas and feedback.
At the moment im purely dealing with engine mechanicals and gas flow/ pressure management, albeit slowly.

A rough outline of the overall outlook in case you were wondering,
An engine capable of running 31 inch tyres on road with near stock gearing
Custom cut low range (to follow) inside sj413 tcase
bigger brakes inside 16 inch rims,
big cheesy grin
already on a 3 inch lift.

so far ive pulled the engine out, pulled off the manifolds, pulled off the head and sump, honed the bore out by 1 thou, regapped the rings to tollerate more heat, put the block back together and mounted the blower, just need to pull it all apart to pain the mounts.

the plan is to boost it to aprox 8lbs at 5000rpm, when i find my bits of paper again I'l post how i propose to do this and what blower overdrive ratio i'l be using.

What engine is it? G13B or M13A?

Cant wait to see some pic's! :)

How are you going to deal with the engine management system?

Chris

Well after a brief pause, (8 years) and a selection of mixed results, it seams that it is time to revive this old girl and her thead.

Cheers Lambert,

Just booked transport for the old girl to bring her home to where I can work on her. Been a long time coming.
Cant seem to find many picks of her as she was.
Will post any more if I find some.

but here is a run down of her past

First time out after buying her from Darren @ KAP, mods included 4" spring lift with shocks. very yellow paint job. front bash plate and the prototype of the front bumper replacement. Don't think there was much else.

was my daily drive and work horse from 2007 to around 2012, until she decided to damn near fall to bits going down the drive at work followed by the ECU letting the smoke out as I parked up.

Should have left it, but I didn't, fed it a DTA S60 ECU and while drunk and bought a mini supercharger :S

for one reason or another, was not happy with it, so I acquired a M13 VVT lump and started again.

Worked well enough, made decent torque at low rpm even though the peak power numbers are nothing special.
bit of post dyno fiddling and she got her MOT .

some generall hooligan behaviour and lost of fun,
then got her stuck for an hour here, cost me an oil pump, that was more than a second hand M15 engine, so the inevitable happened

Changed lump to the M15, back on the rollers, naff all boost above 3k rpm
found all the Teflon off the rotors stuck in the intercooler, rotor casing scored up ..........

new blower off a Merc something, still an M45 Eaton unit, but different configuration.
made a complete mess of getting it working, some really dumb ideas happened, i.e. cable operated recirculatory valve,
to get thru her last MOT passed .

parked her that day and there she sat for 5 years.

Cheers Riccy,
got a lot of work to get her back to a condition i would want to drive on the road.
here is a quick overview of how she stands at the moment.

Needed a bit more room under the bonnet to accomodate the larger merc pattern eaton M45 supercharger, hence the (rough) composite bonnet. wings also had to be skinned for her last mot, as they were well chewed up.

lurcking under the bonnet,

evo intercooler (probably serious overkill) with fan pack below and for DDIS coil pack, never figured out how to get the the suzuki ones to not be on fire.

the problem areas for tin worm.

nothing out of the usual, rotting behind the headlights and rear body mounts. front clip it trying to remove itself.

the club hammer virtual lift has also ment the worm has got into the outer edges of the wheel wells.

so, not great / not terrible.
