Rear armrest removal

Rear armrest removal was created by jjh
Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the rear armrests from a Mk3 Jimny without taking out all the rear interior trim. They do move slightly but I'm worried that taking them out will break clips so they can't be replaced.
Taking the armrest off would give a few extra cm space for some pet carriers.
Any advice appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. They are screwed in from the back. You have to remove the whole panel for access which if you still have them in means seats out first.
