Engine swap to m16a was created by Morian
Hello there, I am John.
Soon I will swap my m13a engine non vvt (jimny 2004) from a liana m16a also non vvt.
The only question I have is this. Should I keep the m13 intake manifold and throttle body? Or should I put the m16 ones.
From a lot of searches I did the past week I found a third solution that it promises all the benefits without any problems, the hybrid one.
I mean I put the m16 intake manifold but the m13 throttle body.
I should say at this point the ecu will be the jimny’s stock m13, also I already did cat and pre cat delete and a free flow muffler at the end of the exhaust pipe.
Can anyone help me decide what is the better to do? Anyone who did the same?
Thanks in advance.

Use the Liana manifold and throttle body. I have done this swap a couple of times and not had any issues.

Thanks, some people report poor idle in some cases other say rough cold start and some others late throttle response with m16 throttle body, that’s why I asked.

I used all Jimny intake and exhaust manifolds. My Liana throttle body was the same diameter as the Jimny so no point in swapping for me.
I used the m16 Liana injectors from the donor.
And more or less the rest from the Jimny all brakcets and cooling pipes and all.
the oil pan from the m13 jimny, and the oil pickup too from the m13.
I did mine here:

The earlier m16 liana non VVT trottle body can be a bit bigger but the happiness in hp if noticeable could be lost in troubles with the idle valve not matching the ecu. Could be solved by swapping the idle valve from the m13 throttle body.
But as you see at the link above in one of the comments the 50mm Liana TB could fit just fine too.
Also there is dispute over how much a few mm would do when the size of the plenum (intake) is matched or not to the throttle body.

Coming for update, I did it!
First I tried the m16 TB in the m13 intake manifold, the idle was like 1800 -2000 rpms when engine was in operation temperature. Also I had like a hiccup after 3000 rpms. I swap to m13TB and all the problems solved! I went also to my lpg mechanic it remapped the lpg ecu and wow, the jimny felt like rocket really. No hiccups throttle response is awesome! Now I need better front and rear axles because this torque will destroy them in no time 😂.
Also I have a question, I couldn’t pull out the crankshaft pulley from m13 and I left from m16 one, it is a little bit bigger, when I had the power steering pump the belt from jimny was small I think is 4pk850 and liana is 4pk1013, so I ended up swapping the power steering also to much the belt. I feel the steering a bit heavy with this power steering pump and I thinking I will swap the m13 power steering pump again. So the question is, does anyone know what number of belt should I buy? M16 crankshaft pulley but m13 steering pump?

Measure it with a piece of string - the numbers after the "pk" are the length in millimeters, so a 4pk has 4 ribs and an effective length of 850mm, 4pk1013 is 4 ribs, 1013 mm
