Check engine light and error codes, 2000 jimny was created by BvdV
Hi everyone, I am a relatively new owner of a 2000 Jimny.
Over the past month my check engine light started to appear after driving 20+ minutes on the highway, but after leaving the highway, the light would turn off again at lower speeds. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary under the bonnet. However, since a few days it is permanently on.
I am keen to read out the error code, but I had no luck with an OBDII dongle. I came across several topics in this forum where it was mentioned that you can jumper some pins on the OBD port to read out simple error codes. Sadly I did not find which of the pins I have to connect, nor did I manage to find a list of these codes. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Any other advise on how to troubleshoot is welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much!
It turns out that the heated oxygen sensor is the culprit. The voltages that I measure are very weak, e.g. below 0.1 V. I will order a new sensor to replace this one.
