My Jimny has the standard steel wheels and they're in reasonable condition. At least not bad enough at this point in time to take the tyres off for a re-coating. However, the wheel nuts are pretty rusty! A new set would lift it all up, I'm sure.
My car has normal 19mm nuts with a tapered flange (I suppose I should call it like that - English isn't my first language). But when I search for 'Jimny wheel nuts' all I see are capped nuts for the Jimny. Can I swap the rusty ones for these nice-looking capped nuts, or...
There has been a few discussions on here about wheel nuts when swapping from alloy to steel wheels (steel wheels are thinner) so if you use capped nuts you have to have enough thread depth to stop them bottoming out.
Looking at wheel nuts (in the UK) some suppliers say they are for steel wheels and others for alloy wheels, but the thread depth appears to be the same 34mm. Both have the 60 degree taper.
I would take one [open] nut off, measure the stud length from the wheel to the end of the stud and then check with the supplier's data that the nut depth is long enough, I think it will be unless you have non-standard studs or they are low profile wheel nuts.
