It's all an indication of how the motor has been looked after. You now need to consider the condition of the rest of it.

Thanks for your help everyone. The rest of the car does seem to be in good condition with only 80k on the clock thats why I am so interested in it. Its all modded up so wouldnt have to spend cash on it that way. But like o say om a novice and dont know a whole lot about the problems you can get.

I would look for a better model, it will be cheaper and easier to 'mod up' a standard vehicle than have to fix this in 6 months time. If the chassis and body work is not strong enough to pass a MOT for road use, what would it be like off road? Probably collapse.
