Mirror Guards?... was created by X8GGY
Something I've been considering for a while now... Some of the mad "tight and scratchy" ("T&S") greenlanes we do are prone to snatching our mirroes off?! The trees step out into the lane and purposely get in the way?!
So, today...
I started with a cardboard template...
Shape it to protect the mirror - particularly the hinge, which is the main cause of the loss of a mirror
With mirror folded in...
Mark out on steel plate...
Cut and bend...
Steel version, mirror out..
Mirror in...
YUP, happy with that, so...
Mark out the other one, making good use of one of those awkward looking pieces you keep just-in-case...
And... a matching pair of mirror guards!
They just need welding up, grinding / sanding back and holes drilling to mount them with Riv-Nuts to the doors...
But that's another job for another day...
Not sure how many others would be interested in such a guard? Maybe one for JimnyBits to make in bulk? Depends how many other owners lose mirrors when greenlaning / offroading...?
Just a thought anyways...

That's looking a lot like the beginning of an aero package. Will we be seeing a time attack wing on the back?

Streamlining your mirrors to reduce drag and improve top speed! Obviously.
