Transfer case lift?? was created by mike83
Hi, read that Jeep modders lift the tranny box. Has anyone done it on a Jimny??
Eye up the chassis rails and my box hangs down an inch or so.
Thinking about making some box section spacers like the front shock jobbies to stack below the rubber mounts on the t box.
Any thoughts please ????
Top mount prob be the most awkward to suss.
Also what height lift requires a prop spacer or high angle prop?? Might need one.
Cheers

Had a good look underneath.
Spacers made up outta box section.
Need bolt through mounts and a prop spacer.
Not sure how it effect the prop from gear box to t box tho.
Worth a punt as my mounts are shot and need replacing anyway and have small box section taking up shed space.

If you have the earlier (and better) R7me gearbox then lifting it will make the gearbox to t-box prop catch on the rear mount. The newer R72 boxes have a different mount at the back which would allow it to be lifted a little.
Most peeps leave it alone, apart from HD mounts, and just fit a guard tray underneath it.
If your going to change it to a rocklobster in the future then all will be different anyway.

Cheers for info. Much appreciated. I'll try it when the new mounts come and see what happens.
Out of interest did the gearbox change coincide with the vvt engine, I've got a m13 y plate.

The gearbox change was in 2005 when it went to push-button t-box's & VVT engines.
If you have a manual T-box with a M13 engine, then you will have the R7me gearbox.
