Higher output alternator was created by ME13OSE
I know this has been chatted about loads, and searching "alternator upgrade" on the forum doesn't really answer my question.
Is there a straight swap alternator unit for the 1.3 16v non vvt engine that will give you a higher output? If yes, which vehicle and year etc does it come from.

I am not sure about the earlier models but my '05 jimny alternator is bigger than other (1,3) suzuki alternators i got.
If you are planning to go scavenging in a junkyard you could check what is inside cars with more electrical equipment and has larger batteries than the jimny. Suzukies with 1.6 and bigger engines will most likely have larger generators.
When putting a Liana engine in my car i did not change the alternator bracket so Liana would probably fit ok.
It could be that it is easier to modify brackets to fit other alternators with high output, than to find one that is a straight fit.

Just to add to this. I've just completed the alternator upgrade on the Jimny, my choice was the 150A unit fitted to the Suzuki SX4. In and working like a dream. Also added in an idle pulley to increase the surface area the belt has on the alternator main pulley during heavy draws such as winching.

Was it a direct bolt-on? What about wiring?

No, it's not a direct bolt on. 150A units use a much bigger casing. Every part of the wiring has to be altered in one way or another. Not a simple DIY job.
