jimny central locking was created by Molecatcher1957
My central locking has stopped working via the fob over the last few days. Replaced the battery but still not working. I can operate the central locking by pressing the button down on the drivers door which locks/unlocks everything ok. I have checked the central locking fuse which is ok.
The problem started the other day when the doors locked automatically when i removed the keys from the ignition but that has now stopped.
My vehicle is an 02 plate Suzuki Jimny. Anybody any suggestions what the problem is and how to remedy it. Many thanks Molecatcher

If the module that controls the door locks is working then an eBay remote locking kit might be worth a try if you can access the module well enough. I just fitted my own solenoid to operate and act on the existing door lock linkage and linked it to a cheap eBay central locking unit (which was an alarm unit as well).

With regard to my Junior I was able to access the remote module so I linked the RCL/Alarm unit to the module directly. This meant there was no need to add a solenoid in the door. Sounds easy enough though you have to understand about how the two leads work.

I have a similar issue, I can lock the doors with the remote key but can't open them, I've had the key fob apart and cleaned. I was wondering if the control module is coded to the key or interchangeable between cars?

On my Freelander the remote fob, which is separate from the key, is coded to the central locking. A right PITA.
