That should get you down there without dismantling anything. I get the impression that it wasn't a fun job but it was fairly cheap in the end.

You cannot get a lot of torque using them as they are designed for using a extension in the end so the drive line is down the extension and then transfers 90 degree to the union. Ok for running down a thread but no good for loosening a tight nut or final tightening.

Quite so but the torque setting for the high pressure side is 35Nm which isn't massive - I expect the low pressure side needs a bit less (no mention in the manual).

I didn't do this job myself but the chap who did was proud to show me exactly how he did it - no leaks since and that's proof enough for me ;)

Phil,
I did see those crows foot spanners and will probably need to get something like that for reassembly. However, I need to source a new right angle end return pipe first. I am visiting some hydraulic suppliers this morning so hopefully should find something suitable. Wish me luck.

All done. New end return was made and supplied by Anglia Hose & Hydraulics, Colchester for £16. Crows feet adaptors £18.

£34 quid and a couple of hours - all done.
