Possibly the wrong ECM??? was created by Woodyman
Hi all this is my first visit here and I am in need of some help as I am a very new Jimny owner.
I have bought a non running 2001 spanish built Jimny which has had an engine change. The engine is still a G13bb but the ECM has also been changed for whatever reason. The ECM has a reg number written on it from an 02 car so I'm not sure if it is for the G13bb or the newer MT?? engine, the part code is 33921-81A2. Does anyone know if this should work.
Engine does crank over but no ignition or injector operation, fuel pump runs ok and has pressure up to the fuel rail. The Immo light is present on dash with the other lights (CEL, oil pressure, battery charge etc) when ignition is switched on but I've read that it flashes if there is a problem with the immobiliser and this does not it is on constant, so I don't think this is the prob which has lead me to the ECM.
Sorry for the long winded post on my first visit here, any help welcomed.

The more I read on this forum I think I'll try replacing ecu, loom, ignition barrel keys etc. Does anyone know of a set for the G13bb engine available or a 4x4 scrapy in Devon/Cornwall I could try.
I just want to get the engine running so I can get on with giving this little guy a new lease of life.

From the year is yours a soft top? If so the ecu should be a plastic one. Early hard tops had the g13b but the ecu was a metal box one and different. I'm sure there will be some in the breakers. Make sure you get ecu, locks, barrel and keys that all match.

Yes it is a soft top and the ecu is a plastic case one, maybe it is the right one then?
