instrument panel bulbs was created by rexthecat
Hi all, my instrument panel bulbs seem to be going one by one, down to half the speedo now, its kinda OK I don't think I'll be doing the kind of speeds on the dark side of the dial, but whats involved to replace them, can you just remove the panel and put new bulbs in or does more of the dash have to come out?.....presuming I can get to them easily enough what bulbs do I need to put in there?
Had a search on google seems to have been an old thread but pics were missing.
cheers

Gonna try this in stages so I don't get timed out....
Dash panel in pic (to follow) is held in by two screws on the instrument recess, remove these and gently pry out the whole thing from the bottom....all clicks back into place when you're done.
Instrument pod is held in by 4 screws...remove these, pull pod towards you and turn over...you'll see 3 x white bulb holders in a line through the centre...twist out each one, replace bulb and return to position....simples
Heating control panel bulb.....lift out the bit with the pictures on, there are no screws, and you'll see the bulb....I used long-nosed pliers with gorilla tape (what else?  ) on the tips for softness and grip....pull out bulb and replace.
The whole bulb holder CAN be removed from the back but it's a ball ache of a job without some dismantling
The bulb kit (link to follow) also contains blue led for interior light, very effective....and some silly bits for your switch banks which are really fiddly and also a ball ache so I didn't bother with these.
Polish it all up while it's apart, and reinstate.
Hope this helps,
Gus
