what killed my engine was created by mark 88
hi all my j13b engine is dead. small end is gone with only 54000 on the clock with all service history, previous owner had it serviced by a suzuki dealer regular as clockwork.
the only thing i can think of is the rather over sized tires. i forget the exact size but it needed a three inch lift and chopped arches to get them on and with a standard transfer box it did limit the power a lot.
so im thinking that strain killed it. on the other hand i always thought that a drive shaft or some link in the drivetrain would give out before the engine after all i always let the gearbox do the work and not labor the engine.

your thoughts all would be great thanks

Mm Small end,

a) so could be limited oil flow to the small end, lack of oil splash to the small end,
lack of oil just for an instance after an oil and filter change, machining in manufacture between small end and piston reamed location hole.

b) Machining in manufacture between Bore and Piston with Rings on, Picked up between Piston and Bore, Overheating of piston crown due to incorrect air-fuel mix either injector mixture lag turbulence into the cylinder

c) Just one of those things ?

This used to happen a lot on my 1.0litred LJ80 due to me really, driving very hard etc and all I could put that down to was incorrect cylinder burn which stressed the small end as I always changed the oil every 3000 miles, was never an issue when I turbo charged it though, engine just used to expire every 3-4 months but that was a laugh due to the fact it p*ssed the Vitara boys off when they got overtaken lol

Eeeeee

An oil supply problem is the most likely cause.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
