ignition key will not turn

used my 2000 Jimny last night fine! came to start this morning and key won't turn .As if I'm using someone else's keyCan anyone help please Thought might be my key had a problem so tried wife's the same

I had this a while back and I took the cowl off and have the steering look a gentle tap with a hammer! This worked. However I have had this on 2other jimnys and ended up putting a lock set on them!

It may help if you run a little light oil down the key into the lock.

The thin Oil bit I tried almost straight away didn't do a thing think something has broke inside barrel Have had to use hammer technique several times since.Can Just the barrel be replaced?
Where might I get A complete lock set and what sort of price am I Going to have to pay

If you replace just the barrel you will be on a different key from the door locks and will have to take your old key to the key reader to get past the immobiliser

A full lock set would mean your back to just one key but again would need to fool the immobiliser with your old key

Final option is lock set and ecu

Which engine and body style is yours ie g13b or m13a? Hard top or soft top?

I have locks and barrel for m13a

I also have a lock set and ecu etc for a g13b hard top
