Hi. my jimny needs a new engine. I know it's the older g13 engine but I don't know what I'm looking for to see if it's the one with or without the crank sensor. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated

From under the front of the car look just behind the crank pulley at the front of the sump if you have one It will be there with a plug and wire on it.

Is yours hard top or soft top?

If you need a hardtop g13b engine I have one

It is a hard top. Did they put different engines in the hard top and soft top?

2000 is the change over for hard tops to the m13a twin cam, If yours is a g13b single cam you won't have a crank sensor and I have the right engine. Some soft tops have crank sensors some don't. The crank sensor engine won't run in yours without a few modifications.

Cheers. Mine is definitely the older single cam g13 hardtop. So I'm safe to assume there is no sensor. Iv been under and didn't see anything behind the pulley.
The engine I have been offered is from a soft to so he is going to check and get back to me.
