2015 Jimny ESP/Traction control was created by jimny dave
Just been looking at the new revised jimny on Internet. With the addition of Traction control.. it's off road performance must be eeeven better now.
however, I was wondering if anyone has actually put it to the test? Does it work well in real life situations? Also, does anything happen to the system when low range is engaged? Some systems turn off esp don't they? Never understood that...

Regards,
Dave

Have a look here:
practicalmotoring.com.au/car-reviews/2015-suzuki-jimny-review/

They mention it further down in the article.
Personally I don't like traction control, my Dads old Nissan Navara and his Mitsubishi Triton both have traction control and if you get into a situation where it is a wee bit muddy (all 4 wheels on the ground), you cant plant your foot to get out as the traction control holds you back. In saying that though I'm pretty sure you can turn it off?

yes I think some systems when in low range still allow wheel slip I don't know. Intersted to find out though and yes you can switch esp off on most vehicles I think.

Just a quick summary - ESC / ESP, if fitted in a Jimny, can be turned on/off by using a dedicated button on the dashboard, next to the fog lamp control buttons.

This is valid at least in Europe.

Really? So they have fulfilled the EU requirement to fit it but missed the opportunity to make it useful off-road. That's a shame. They should take a leaf out of Landrover's book.
