Spare Key Needed was created by Treloar
I need to get a spare key for my new 2005 Jimny I bought yesterday, which has an immobiliser fitted. Garage salesman said its OK to get a simple key copied from Timpsons, but manual says it won't work with immobiliser! Who is correct?
What's the correct way to go about this please?
Many thanks

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Timpsons will do a key with a transponder, they copy the codes from the original key so no problems.

Try contacting previous owner first as sometimes both keys exist but only one goes to the garage. It's worked for us before

I am suure it will be coded. If you were in Brum I'd recommend Duplicut who would charge about 45 notes. www.duplicut.co.uk/
I never understand why only one key comes with used motors especially as an OE replacement would be around £140. In fact one official place I contacted said never to buy a car which comes with only one key.
