I've been meaning to write this up for a while, incase it helps anyone out there...

Well, my hand was forced yesterday after updating the version of iOS I had on the iPad to the latest, so it matched some Apps I wanted, I discovered my OS Landranger Maps had disappeared from the licenced section of the Memory map App'...

So I deleted and then reloaded the Memory Map software off the iPad, and whilst reloading everything managed to load the whole of the UK (2014 version, non HD) after reading a support article that said map sizes have to be under 4Gb or the iPad will crash all the time, well, the whole of the UK on Landranger Maps is 'only' 2Gb, so I succesfully loaded the whole lot onto my iPad yesterday...

And, whilst transferring the overlay of our intended route for Sunday's greenlaning trip, I also documented how to get it from MM on the PC to MM on the iPad, and have added it to my 'iPad GPS' blog here - www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/ipad-gps/blog_198.html - hoping it might help someone, as I remember it being a bit of a job the first time I attempted it!
