Engine conversions was created by Dave!
Hi guys,

Just a quick one, thinking of converting my jimny to a 306 dturbo engine over the summer.

What engines have you guys put in yours?

Regards,
Dave.

I'm not one to stop innovation and like to see people do new things with engineering solutions - however I really cannot get my head around why people want to put Diesel engines in Jimnys.

I am a little biased as I have a particular dislike of Diesel engines in general but the Jimny is a lightweight little off roader, known for being as such and for being a light little fun truck in which you have to rev it and go balls out sometimes to get across an obstacle with momentum and confidence.

To me sticking a diesel lump in a Jimny is missing the point of the little truck and changing it to try to be something it is not and never will be. There will be too much weight up front unless an all aluminium modern lump is used - such as in the European Diesel Jimnys with the 1.5 Renault engine in. That doesn't float my boat either though.

There is little weight to any arguments about waterproofing as Suzuki did a great job waterproofing the petrol engines and with a snorkel, water is no obstacle, within reason.

Just my thoughts, no-one else has to agree with me, I am quite happy sitting in the corner thinking it to myself if needs be.

I love diesels and like the thought of one in the jimny but the weight is a massive problem, if its water you have to tackle see my utube vid to prove a jimny runs very well under water I done about 1.5 miles under water for about 15mins with handbrake stuck on lol

I was sat in water

thers three vids to show how long it was
