Agree to that :)

And then with the 1.6 installed. Have the camshaft reground, open airfilter, loose the cat, high-comp pistons, mega-squirt etc.. :-)

I have had two vehicles remapped by a firm called Celtic Tuning. They come to your door and do it and are superb. The two I had done was my Tiguan and my LDV van. Both turbo diesels. I had them enable the cars to have more low down torque and better fuel consumption as opposed to more top end speed and on both vehicles it worked. I get just under 50mpg on the Tiguan on average and the low down grunt and acceleration is a lot better. They do all cars(petrol and diesel) but do not list the Jimny. They list the Vitarras among others under the Suzuki brand but they reckon they could only get about 6bhp increase on the Jimny and you would not feel the benefit. They need to see at least 10bhp to make it worthwhile both for the customer and them. Its mainly because there is no turbo but the original Suzuki map is pretty much on the limit. Their wecsite is www.celtictuning.co.uk (pronounced keltic) and their contact number is 08454700003. Give them a ring. They are very helpful.

Chip/remapping on N/A engines are generally a waste of money. Needs to be forced induction of some kind.

A good company like the one I mentioned should, and did, tell me that it was a waste of my money and their time so that speaks volumes about this company. As I say they come to you and do it there and then. Brilliant!
