removing the prop between gbox and tbox

i will be replacing the small prop between the gearbox and transfer box this week to try and correct a problem. can anyone let me know the correct way to do this ? anything to watch out for etc ? thanks

It's been a while since I did this but essentially you undo the prop at the transfer box end. Then slide it out of the gearbox but keep the bit that slides out straight so as not to damage the oil seal it runs in.

thanks for that. i do have a new oil seal to throw in that i ordered a while ago but never got round to doing.
would i need to put on some kind of reference mark to make sure it goes back in the same place or is this unneccessary ?

It would not hurt to mark it just in case you do get a vibration, at least that can be eliminated!
