Gear reduction for 235s was created by jtayl153
Looking at getting 235s for my next set of tyres.
Thinking I should get a gear reduction to ease the strain on the drive train.
Is there a kit I can use with the Jimny T-case? What % reduction would you recommend?
I really dont want to find a samurai t-case and mess around with it that much. My Jimnys only done 25000kms.
Hit me.

I think you'd be messing about and wasting time and money and effort by not going down the Rocklobster conversion route if I'm honest.
You'll not be satisfied with the results of what can be gained from any Jimny originated gearing.
This is only my opinion, but I don't want you to waste your money to come to the same conclusion as I have just put to you.
If you must though, I think the automatic diffs are lower ration too, so if you can find a written off auto Jimny of the right age, you might be able to get all the parts in one swoop.
The thing about Jimny transfer boxes is the chain drive inside them, which stretches and is too weak compared to the SJ boxes.
Decisions, decisions!

Decisions decisions indeed!!
I guess the next question is, do I need to go to 235s?
Currently on 215/75 ATs. Haven't had a problem yet.

I've had 215/75s on for the last month. Fine on road, no issues off road.
