Is this the hub seal that's gone? was created by minibbb
I had my jimny up on the ramp today and noticed this on the inside of the front offside wheel. When I drive I hear a click click noise almost like there's a stone stuck in the tyre tread but not sure if it would be related.
Is this the hub seal that's gone? If so is it an expensive/ lengthy job to fix?

The gunk on the swivel is usually a sign your king pin bearings are gone. Get it jacked up and holding the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock, rock it and see if theres any play. If there is try again with some one pushing the brake pedal down if its still there then its your king pin bearings.
If it is kingpin bearings, its not a overly hard job just very messy and smelly, there is a very good guide on the site for changing them.
