Power steering pump renew , how to bleed was created by miktt100
Hi just about to stick new pump on and fill up with new fluid , do I just turn wheels lock to lock several times with engine off to bleed or is it more technical ??

usaly fill them up and go left right left right for a wile and they bleed them selfs

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

The engine has to be running at idle. :whistle:
Lock to lock with the wheels off the floor or you will dig your drive up, or wear flats on the tyres.
When the fluid isn't foamy, it is done
Keep topping up as required.
I remember doing this on an old Rover once, with the reservoir part of the pump, and for convenience I left the lid off. All the foamy fluid shot out and got everywhere. :ohmy:
