Can't slide temp slider? was created by Sandspider
Hi all
Bit of an odd one - the temperature control slider in my Jimny is stuck at the cold end. I can move it about a cm towards the hot end, then it stops, and feels like I'll bend or break something if I push any harder. Its not a good time of year to only have cold air!
Anyone had this problem, and how did you fix it? Do I need to take out the dashboard section? If so, how do I do that?
Many thanks.

Thanks. I'll check tomorrow in daylight.
But wouldn't the cable coming off mean that the slider would move easily, but the temp wouldn't change? Ie I wouldn't get a jammed slider?

Mine is the temp slider that's stuck, not the vent selector slider. Might be a similar problem though. I'll have a look tomorrow.
Anyone know how to get that part of the dash out? I had a look in the how tos, but that only covers a bit of dash removal on a facelifted Jimny, not my older model...

Well, went out to investigate, and the lever moves as normal! Seems there was some white sticky stuff on the lever inside the dash, and the heat in the Jim in the sun today has melted it!
I've cleaned out the worst of it, and left it on hot.
I do wonder where the white stuff came from though... (No dodgy suggestions please!!)
Cheers for the help.
