gearbox mount movement, was created by ne-crock

so the jimnys stugaling to select gears, to the point its dificult to drive

trying to find the cause of the problem, the mounts seem okay, i'm just curious to know how much play there should be if i lift the gearbox by hand underneath?

You shouldn't be able to lift the back end of the gearbox at all it sounds like the rear mount has come apart Mike.

Ah should the bush be solid all the way through not 2 split studs in the bush like original box mounts?

I think I've found my problem as it lifts about an inch I'll try get this sorted by the 21st

The mount should be in one piece but it tends to split, I think they're around £35 plus vat from the stealers.
