No ignition was created by Baumann
Hi
After welding some body work on my Samurai the ignition died.
There is no spark when turning the engine.
It constantly blows the fuse.
Im thinking that the ignition coil/distributor is dead.
My problem is that the ignition coil/distributor is not the original one, and I have no idea what model it comes from, and my local sparepart dealer cant help.
I have added a picture of it, any information or help is highly appriciated.

Yeah I forgot to disconnect the battery. I cant see that I have melted any wires.
When I turn the engine it blows a fuse. I guess its the fuse for the ingnition coil.
Thats why I assume that the ingnition coil is dead, but since its not the standard ignition coil I cant find a new one.
Normally ignintion coil and distributor is 2 separate units, but here its build into 1 unit.

I've done a quick check on the internet and I can't find any reference to a similar distributor??
I notice you say the car is a Samurai??
Are you in the UK??
The Jimny wasn't called a Samurai in the UK so possibly this is a local market model?
Some more detail might help eg exact car/cc/year etc. or some pics of the car/engine.
In the UK the Samurai was the SJ 410/413 if that's any help?
The other option is that something non standard has been fitted?
Just a thought on the fuse blowing. Are you sure that it's the ignition fuse??
I presume you had the ignition turned off when welding so my first thoughts would be to check all the wires between the battery, starter and ignition switch.
If simply turning the ignition on doesn't blow the fuse but operating the starter does blow it I would check the starter circuit/wires first.

Sorry, I totally forgot to write some details about the car.
Its a Samurai SJ413 from 88, 1.3L engine.
Im from Denmark.
It doesnt blow the fuse when I set ignition on, but when the starter turns the engine.
