Cut out rusty boot floor & replaced it? was created by Sponnie
Hi all,
Spurred on by the few posts of people putting winches in the rear and others alloy chequering.
My Jimny rear has too many rust spots to be worth patching.
I want to (plasma) cut the boot floor out, use it as a template to replace with new, possibly fit some kind of supporting spars to stop the new flat steel flexing. Then cover it.
Has anyone done this?
I heard someone mention a boot floor repair panel sometime ago, but a Google doesn't turn up anything. I'll give Suzuki a bell now for a laugh

that does sound a good price for a complete new boot floor pan but if you don't need rear seats be better to just use some 2 or 3mm steel checker plate or plain steel sheet

Yeah, I was just pondering the legalities of such. I could quite easily mig in some nuts and supports for the seats to bolt too.
Will have think on which way to go.
